Happy. Forgetful .... Cold.

Darn it. Lost track of my blogging. Went missing for a few weeks again. Sorry.

Where do I begin?!?! Serves me right. Ok... let's go with good news first up.

IT HAS BEEN ANNOUNCED!!!! I am one of the Guest Designers for Katja Schneider's Designing Memories Kit Club!!!!! I can't tell you how excited I am to be selected! And all the other talented scrappers who are selected as Guest Designers too.... Claire Bremner, Mardi Winen, Kathie Link, Jane Fitchett, Alli Paterson, Mel Diener, Dionne Molina, Yvette Adams, Jill Geraghty-Groves, Tania Davey, Stephanie Howell, Charity Hassel, Linda Barber, Sara McMartin, Andrea Senn .... and you must have a look at the kits designed and put together by Katja...... mmmmmm.... just scrumptious!

Ok... time to deflate my head...

Ever since kids started kinder, I have a brain like a sieve. Hopelessly forgetful. I left the front door opened when I went out to pick my daughter up from her last day at kinder for the term. I have no clue how I have become this bad!!!! And when one of the kinder teachers gave my son some Easter choccies (just to be fair because Ellen came home with some in their Easter egg basket they made in class), I took them from him because I didn't want him to melt them in his hands. I just left them in the pocket of my jeans and completely forgotten about them, until we were ready to go out for Ellen's swimming lesson, and I locked the doors (this time I didn't forget) and shoved the house keys into the pocket. I felt something squishy and gooey, and took out my keys, .... and I had chocolate covered keys.

The moral of the story: finish the chocolates before anything happens to them.

Got a head cold on Monday, which developed into a cold and cough yesterday. Now I'm coughing like I have TB, and sniffling like I'm on drugs. Every cough hurts my head so bad I can't even think straight.

I think I'll stop rambling now. These have been my creations since the retreat. Not very promising, but I've finally used those Blush papers I must have since January.

Title: A GREAT PAIR I absolutely love that MME Embossed Bohemian chipboard.

Title: Bandana Girls Those Lil Davis stripchip scrolls are just divine! Paint them and dimensional magic them and they'll look a million bucks!

Title: Priceless I had to take this pic of my son playing with the box of his train set, and then use the cliche Mastercard commercial lines to journal this layout.

I think that's all I can share for now. I do have a few other secrets, some happy ones, some dark ones .... but I'll leave those for another time when I am ready to talk about them. Sorry to tease. :)

Have a GREAT weekend!

Layouts

OK... as promised these are some of the layouts I did during the Scrapanalia retreat. I did 5 layouts but can only show 3 here. The others, I'll just have to wait till they come out in FK before I can put them up.

Title: Bonding -- I painstakingly handstitched all the scallop edges for 1 hour. I just had this idea of handstitching around scallops (well, it is easier than machine-stitching scallops, you've gotta give me that!!), and I just had to try it once. Believe me, it's a design never to be repeated, but I absolutely LOVE the outcome.

Title : Boy @ Work. See that photo at the bottom right hand corner? It is cover with a rubon frame by Blueyedezines. They are AUSSIE!!!!! Whoo-hoo!!!! Check out their products.... rather cool I must say.

Title : Dolphin Dentist. This is a layout of my daughter brushing the dolphin's teeth as the Relief Dolphin Dentist cos the Dolphin Dentist was on holidays. This was at the Pet Porpoise Pool at Coffs Harbour. Don't you like it when the toothbrush actually matches her outfit? LOL ...

Title : Kinder Girl. This layout was done 2 days ago. A few new products here.... Pressed Petals Gellies, Pressed Petal Glitzies.

We had this very weird conversation at the retreat.... while scrapping... as you do. Jacqui was talking about a snake that ran through her feet, under her car... Then Trish told me that we are actually not allowed to kill snakes!!! They are protected!!! Now who was the person who set this, this... this... abomination???!!!! So if there was a deadly snake running around in my house, I'm not allowed to kill it to protect my family from it?!?! Instead I have to pay some money for the snake catcher to come and catch it..... just for them to return it to its "natural habitat", so they can go find another exciting adventure?!?!?! Or who knows they might find my house and its occupants that exciting that they'll come venturing again??? ABOMINATION!!!!

Another thing I saw today that I found ridiculous.

McDonalds Australia has now got 9 meals they've put together, that has the "heart-ticked" approval from The Heart Foundation. See here for the details. Apparently there is a 15% off savings if you picked one of those 9 meals. But get this.... you are not allowed to change those meals in ANY way. I'm not talking about changing from salad to fries... but you are not even allowed to have a grill order for them to remove a pickle, or change the dipping sauce for your nuggets, or change from an orange juice to water.

QUOTE from McDonald's website.
"These meal deals are healthier choices because they meet Tick's strict standards for serving size, saturated fat, salt and vegetable/fibre content. They have been independently tested."

THIS, I don't get. So I cannot remove that salt-saturated pickle because it must be there to make me healthier? Or I am not encouraged to drink water over orange juice? Or I should just eat cheese because I am dairy-intolerant? And if I do insist that I wanted them changed, I will not be getting the savings because ..... why? Because pickle is extremely essential in balancing a healthy diet.

Anyway... these are some of my perspectives in my simple life this week. Always glad to share. :) See you around!!!

Back from Scrapanalia Retreat!

OH MY... it was an awesome weekend. The Country Place (that's what the place is called...) was clean and modern. The crop was FANTASTIC!! The food was SCRUMPTIOUS!! The shopping was MAD!!! Lol.... I had the best time... I wonder when is my next ?!?!?!

There were soooo many wonderful people I spent time with.... Jess, Ange, Wendy, Trish, Anne-Marie, Jacqui, Felicity, Jen, Megan, Carolyne, Katie, Sofi, Shirley, and of course.... my roomie, Ruey. There were 50 women at the retreat and I simply couldn't find time to chat with everyone of them. But judging from all the laughters and their happy faces, I don't think anyone had a bad time! The only thing I was unhappy about was that I didn't plan my layouts well. So I didn't have enough photos to scrap with, and with the photos I had, I didn't bring the right papers for them. And being a chipboard junkie, I actually managed to forget to bring ANY chipboards!!!!! I blame it on the Nappy Cake orders I received 2 days before the day I had to leave for the retreat. For months to no end, this little business of mine had no orders. On Wednesday, I received 1 nappy cake order, and on Thursday, 2. I was supposed to be planning for my weekend!!!! Not slaving for nappy cakes!!! Grrr.... the only good thing I got out of these orders, I had some spending money. kekeke....

I did 5 layouts all up, and I'll post some pics tomorrow after I get some decent photos of them. For now, it's time for my cuppa tea and bed.

Back soon.
