So busy with deadlines

Deadlines, deadlines, deadlines. I haven't stopped scrapping but I can only post some of them here because the other layouts are for a competition.

Discovery. This was a layout for a cyber crop challenge using bare basics: 1 cs, 1 pp and a pen. No alphas, no inking, no embellishments, etc etc.

Have I told you lately ...? This was my own take for the challenge I set for the girls to scrap a man in their life. Not necessarily their partners/husbands, just a man. Could be a celebrity, a historical figure, a sportsman, any man/men but must be a grown up - no toddlers/little man. There must be at least 3 lines of journaling, and 5 fun facts about this person.

Journaling: Have I told you lately ....? That I really love you. Your support for me is more than I can ask for. I love that you take over the kids when I have had a bad day with them. I love that you are happy to do take-away for dinner when I had sent the day scrapping. I love that after I spent a Sunday scrapping at Ruey's, I come back to a house cleaner than when I left it, and the bedsheets are changed too!! And if you still don't know by now, that's why I love you.

Fun facts: Nodder, cries in movies, chocoholic, tea lover, food lover

Tulip Face

It has been a very cold week here in Melbourne even though it is spring time. In my opinion, it was colder than winter! Like the rain though... we desperately need it. MORE PLEASE!

I have been having lots of bad luck with my preorders. This is my first time doing preorders and I'm just disgusted at the service I'm getting. One with a very well-known US online shop, one with another well-known Australian online shop (not Blue Bazaar, they are good). If you want to know who these shops are... ask me privately and I'm more than happy to tell you who they are.

The US online shop (I'll call them Pink) and I had a written agreement (email) that they would hold all our preorders, and will only ship them out until every item has arrived. That is because I know that if I had them sent separately, my shipping cost will increase. However, I received an email one beautiful day, that they have shipped our my orders. I was ecstatic for a while, but soon realised that they have only shipped out part of my order. So I emailed Pink to query and she replied saying that they would rather ship out my order in case they lose them in their warehouse. I was like.. WHAT THE???? I was supposed to receive a $7 shipping credit for spending over $75 (yah lucky Americans get free shipping), but because she split my orders, I wasn't sure if I would still qualify for my shipping credit. So I queried again and Pink said that I still would. Now I'm still not happy that I am up for higher shipping cost because of the split shipment. So she said she'll offer me a $7 credit for the rest of the products (this was clearly in her written email). I was pretty happy about that until I saw the final invoices a week later. I was only given the shipping credit, but there was no other credits. Again another email went out to Pink. She said she did not promise me the $7 product credit! What gall! She said shipping credit was what she meant to give me. I'm like... that was what I was ENTITLED to in the first place for spending over $75. So what exactly is she OFFERING me for incurring me extra costs for shipping??? She finally offered to refund me $3.00.

$3.00. Hmmm.... now let me see... what should I spend it on, Pink?

Australian online shop (I'll call her Lilac). Lilac have preorders for products arriving in Aug and Sep. On 11 August, I ordered 3 different brands of products from the Arriving In August range. In my order, I placed a comment / query, asking if they normally wait for all products to arrive before sending them out, or do they send them out as soon as they arrived. I'm sure you know why I have that concern. Anyway, 15 August, they charged my credit card but still did not reply to my query. 25 August, I sent another email asking the same questions. I also queried about 1 of the brands I preordered (7G) as I saw that it has been moved to the "arriving in Sept" category. By now, I see that the products due in August have already arrived..... and I heard from the "grapevine" that preorders have already been shipped. I still have not seen my package and still no emails from them! 31 August I sent them THE email. This email to cancel my order and asking for a refund, citing poor customer service and lack of (NONE in this case) communication. 4 September I got an email from them. This email .... has got to be the biggest joke of all time ... was responding to my email dated 25 August! So they merely responded to those 2 questions I had.... no more, no less. I guess I am not getting my refund until after I eventually receive my package at the end of September? Or Christmas, maybe?

What is it with online businesses?? I promised never to shop from Lilac again.... and Pink.

It's been a week since I've been announced as Scrap Pile's design team. We have been sent some products to work on our assignment. I also did a pile of the 8x8 LOs for the ABC album, which is nearly coming to an end.

W = whine... It is your way of communications

X = Xpress yourself

Y = Yakkity Yak. I just wanted to say for the record, I sooooooo don't like working with lilacs and lavendars.

Z = Zipping around

Scrap Pile DT layout. Using SEI Doodley-doo girls papers, I created this layout. Really fun to do... very kiddy-ish papers which I normally wouldn't buy, but I thought this was easy. I did it at a crop last night with some wonderful girls Jessica, Liz, Kass and Ange, and a few other ladies.... sorry I cannot remember that many names. Kim (Scrap Pile DT) asked me if I have a story behind the Tulip Face lo. Ashamedly, I don't. LOL... It is just one of those photos that fitted the paper... and I thought her face looked like a tulip .... lame huh?

That's all for today. I have a crop tomorrow at Ruey's, and Jane is coming too. Can't wait!!

Proud to Announce ....

OK, after that big whinge... I have a big announcement! I made it to the Design Team of Scrap Pile. Together with Katie Toland, Maree, and Kim Arnold , we are going to have 6 months of fun inspiring and working together with each other. This is my first DT appointment, I am so excited I can hardly hold it in. When Cass called me on the phone, I couldn't even say thank you without stuttering. She must think I'm such a dill. Anyway, I really like this community in Scrap Pile, the friendliest and funniest scrapbooking girls I've ever met.

I did these layouts for my daughter's ABC album. I particularly like the Q ... all the glitter.

Title: Queen O'drama

Title: Rainboots

Title: Shoulders
Journaling: You love wearing thouse spaghetti strap tops in summer. You said you like to show your shoulders. Everytime you want to wear a spaghetti strap top, you will ask, "Mummy, I want to wear SHOULDERS."

Title: Toilet-trained
Journaling: Toilet-trained in 1 day!!! You are such a gem. Youwoke up one morning and announced that you wanted to wear "undies". We had a few too many false alarms and a couple of minor accidents, and then you got the whole act right. I'm so proud of YOU.

Title : I had a dream.
Journaling: What do I have? A wonderful husband who adores me. Two lovely children who still give me hugs and kisses even though they get their fair share of punishments. A house I can call home. I am thankful for what I have. And they are by no means, small achievements. And I am where I am because I had a dream.

Thank you for visiting. :)
