Too Much to Blog
I have so much to blog about, I had to split them up. Done 1 lot yesterday, doing something else today. Today I'm showing you some pics of my layouts and some pics.
OH! And The Lion King - the stage production
In January, friends of mine bought me a ticket to watch The Lion King as a birthday present. I was so thrilled and excited because I've been dying to see it, but quite broke actually. So when I knew I was going, together with them, I was really really looking forward to it. Well, last night was the night. It was soooooooo GREAT! I've been to quite a few stage shows - Mamma Mia, The Boy From Oz, Il Divo Concert, ... etc I've always come home completely mesmerised and hyped up and loving it. This one.... this one is OUT OF THIS WORLD. I've never bought a programme when I see these shows, but this one got me at hello. The costume, the stage design, the props design, the crazy and clever ideas they have to showcase the animals in the wild ..... you would never believe how creative these people are. It was jaw-dropping splendid. I was in awe everytime they had animals on stage, which is throughout the show... DUH! And the stampede scene where Mufasa was killed, and the Hyenas, and Timone and Pumbaa .... they are word for word, scene for scene to the most minute detail. Breathtaking, mind-blowing, intelligent, ... I swear, if this show ever comes to your town, save up for it and go see it. You will not regret it. It's unfortunate my kids are too young for it now. And I know that if they EVER make this again in another decade or two, it will NEVER be the same. If this ever comes out on DVD.... although not likely ..... they can count me in to buy several copies for gifts!
Ellen's first cooking lesson
Lately, I've been letting the kids get involved in the kitchen. They are 3.5 and 2.5 when I cook. Only because if I let them do something very small, they'll be very happy and probably (hopefully) avoid fights and arguments. And I mean something very small, like just stirring the pasta cooking in water.
Yesterday, I decided to make a snake bean omelette. It's one of our favourite dish. Just thinly sliced snake beans, fried into an omelette. It was one of my first cooking lesson from Mom too when I used to hang around in Mom's kitchen when she cooked. So I decided to get crazy and let Ellen do this. So I sliced the beans and beat the eggs. I got the oil going in the wok, garlic frying, and threw in the beans. She was a natural in the kitchen, like I was. Won't stop tossing the beans, LOL. Got hubby to stand behind her to supervise while I took these shots.
She had such a ball and I am soooo proud of her.

My Layouts
If you must know, the cheesy grin girl was me. Don't even know how old I was when that photo was taken. And the purple LO photo was a self portrait.
Thanks for being patient with my lengthy blog, thanks for looking.

My Abby loves to help in the kitchen too. Get things from the fridge, get and keep the plates, place the cutleries on the table. Wonder if she will still do it when she's a teenager..lol. Love the layouts, especially the purple self-portrait one.

waaaah....it is 2am and I am getting hungry looking at your snake bean omelette!! Look very yummy. I feel like a bad mother....I never taught my boys how to cook...the two older ones learnt at school through home ed class. At home....they do the cleaning up for me and occasionally will peel and chop vegies especially when we are making a huge pot of minestrone. The little one likes to beat egg.....but I've never been brave enough to let them stir food like that when they were little. Must do that with the little one. Thanks for the inspiration and your lo's are great!!
