My {pretty} blog
I spent a lot of time today "dolling up" my blog. Added a photo on the blog title, added the photobucket stamp at the bottom. What do you think?
Oh! Oh! Oh! My friend, Ruey suggested I name my blog Born Free... Now I'm Expensive. We got an email with a lot of "sayings for women".... and they were really funny. This was one of them. She said it suits me to a T.... LOL. I went, "I am expensive, aren't I?" I spend lots..... according to my husband although I beg to differ....kekeke (only on scrapbooking). I don't intentionally go out and buy brand name products. I really don't. When my eyes do the shopping, they somehow, just naturally pick out the nicest thing of the lot, and they happen to be expensive too. As I mature, I have mellowed down and let logic do some of the thinking. Just some.
Today, I met with a few friends from my Western suburbs Mothers' group at a playcentre. I like doing that cos I know my kids will go and play, and I can chat with my friends in peace. I don't really sound like I like being a mother, do I? First, I look forward to sending my kids to daycare twice a week, then on the days I do have them, I try to find things for them to do so they can leave me alone.
I love my kids.... to death. I don't deny that they drive me crazy all the time, and I mean ALL THE TIME. But they are toddlers.... 1 year apart.... partners in crime.... BINGO! That's what they do best!! It's their profession!! If it's not the sister, it's the brother. Someone is always crying about something, fighting over something, hurt by the other one.... you name it. So I can't wait for those days to get them out of my hair.
I am also not the kind of mother who cries or feels bad when I have to leave them under someone's care - not the first time, not ever - but only by someone I trust. When I know they are in good hands, I know they will be happy. You can say it's an excuse, but I think they need their time with other children, and I need my me time. And at the end of the day, they are happy to see me, and I them.
The lady who won our stroller on eBay also came and picked up the stroller today. The starting bid for this very good condition stroller was $19.99 (RRP is $219). It is in excellent condition and perfect working order, nothing is broken, and if I had planned to have enough babies to form a soccer team, I would keep it and still be confident that it would last another 5 kids. There were just some scuff marks on some parts of the frame work. Before she bidded for it, she emailed and asked if the stroller had any scratches. I thought... are you serious??!! It is a used stroller in the best "used-stroller" condition you've ever seen. It is selling at an incredibly low price and I don't have an issue with that price but can you be pickier and fussier? She ended up winning the auction for $23.50. Congratulations for getting every dollar you paid for and more. Oh, I even helped carry the stroller into the boot of her car. Fancy that for service!
