Time to blog
OK.... I haven't blogged for so long that Kim has buzzed me on MSN to ask if everything was OK. It's nice to know someone actually reads my blog! Hahaha... just kidding. I am so sorry. Other than my cough and cold, then the gastro (a very yukky one too) and fever, and then the cough and cold again.... and then my children also took turns doing the projectile vomits, and then my husband had the runs... we are all OK now. All the blogs I've visited, have had sick owners. So I hope everyone is on the mend.
On a good note, we have decided to go to Singapore in November for a holiday, as well as attending my brother's wedding. I am sooooo looking forward to that because I really miss home and my family and friends. I know our pockets are quite tight at the moment, but I'd rather refrain from buying scrapbooking stuff, and buy less clothing and outfits. SINGAPORE, HERE WE COME!!!! :) :) :)
On a better note, I made Ellen's birthday cake today. Her birthday is on Sunday but tomorrow is the last day of kinder for the term. We will take this cake to kinder tomorrow, and a lolly bag for each kid. I buy this magazine, Super Food Ideas regularly. In one of those issues, they had a bumper issue on Party Cakes, creatively using lollies, candy, marshmallows and all the sweet stuff, to decorate cakes. I was so inspired that I kept that magazine and vowed to make one for my daughter on her birthday. And I did. And I'm so proud of myself! LOL... Cheap everything - 2 packet cake mixes ($5), basic butter icing ($2), fruit sticks ($4 with leftovers). Well.... I did spend a bit on those flowers and butterflies which cost me about $6 but I only used two-thirds of the pack, so I'd say about $4 worth. And finally those decorative icing that comes in tiny tubes that made squeezing easy (butterflies' feelers, flower stems and the words) .... they are ingenious! I could have made them too but I couldn't be bothered with getting the colours right, and piping them from cones and so on. Ellen helped with the fruit sticks, the flowers and the butterflies, and also giving direction where she wants her name, and what colours to use. So what do you think? I missed my calling?? ROFL...
I will take more pics tomorrow at the kinder.... hopefully.
OK... that's all for now. Will blog again soon.

Cool cake Mich - I made Benson's cake this year as well - a dinasaur which I sketched and then cut from cake. Somewhat dodgy, but Benson knew it was a dinasaur and really that's all that matters. He thought I was the best mummy in the whole world.
oh, the cake is so sweet and nice!! Well done, Mich. Ya, hope you can squeeze out some time for another SB Gathering when you are back home in Nov. So looking forward to seeing you again!
Yeah I was wondering where you had got to. We've all had the same sicknesses. I always the dread the start of winter, so many germs in the air....blahhhhh.

Great work on the cake! Hope it tastes every bit as good as it looks. Not that it will matter to the kids - as long as it's cake, they'll be happy!
